Presenters

Dr. H. Schubert Palmer

H. Schubert Palmer MD, is a graduate of the Loma Linda University School of Medicine (Class 1980A) and Fellow of the American College of Cardiology who has practiced in Southern California for over twenty-five years as a board certified internist and interventional cardiologist. Among his many responsibilities, he has served in one hospital as Chief of the Medical Staff and President of the Governing Board.

Together with his wife, Yolanda Innocent-Palmer, Dr. Palmer has founded Heart and Soul International (HSI), a 501(c)(3) tax-deductible ministry that promotes the physical, emotional and spiritual health of families. They hosted a weekly radio show on health, and presently conduct health and family life workshops, seminars and concerts around the world. Their acclaimed Healthy Lifestyle series, “Is There A Doctor In The House?” involves presentations (and cooking class) by Dr Palmer and his team of health professionals and lifestyle counselors.

 

JoAnn Rachor

JoAnn Rachor is the author of two cookbooks and has been teaching cooking classes for over 30 years. She and her pastor husband Dan live in the Grand Rapids region of Michigan. She is an expert with crockpots. She likely knows more about them than anyone you’ll ever meet. She owns 25 of them! JoAnn obtained her slow cooker collection while doing research for her second cookbook, “Fast Cooking in a Slow Cooker Every Day of the Year.” When you attend this conference you will come away with tips and techniques for making quick and easy, heart healthy meals in a hurry, including breads, entrees, sauces and desserts, all using a slow cooker (crockpot).

Dr. Neil Goodman

Neil Goodman, D.O. is a graduate of Michigan State University College of Osteopathic Medicine and has practiced as a board certified family physician at Baldwin Family Healthcare in Baldwin, Michigan for almost 20 years. Among his many responsibilities, he has served as the Medical Director of Baldwin Family Healthcare and also is a Spectrum Health Reed City Campus Staff Physician.

Together with other team members, he founded START NEW Basic Training in 2006, an 8-week, lifestyle change  bootcamp that leads people to healthier lifestyles both physically and spiritually. He and his wife Christine currently live with their three children in the Big Rapids region of Michigan.


Dawn Jenkins

Dawn Jenkins hails from London, England, and attended Loma Linda University where she earned her Physical Therapy Assistant license. Subsequently, she heard God’s call to enter the medical missionary field and attended Missionary Education and Evangelistic Training (M.E.E.T.) Ministries, a self-supporting medical missionary school in Huntingdon, Tennessee, founded by Drs. Thomas and LaVerne Jackson, where she received her Hygienic Therapist Certificate in 2001.  As a medical missionary, she founded her personal outreach, “Restore Ministry,” and has seen many individuals and families restored by God’s eight laws of health.

 

In 2007, she joined the “Is There A Doctor In The House” Evangelistic Team. She has ministered in England, Belize, and many states across America, working as a lifestyle counselor, in-home health educator, and Bible instructor.

Ron Porterfield

Ron Porterfield lives in Seale, Alabama, where he received his medical missionary training in the Lifestyle Educator and Counselor Training Programs at Uchee Pines Institute, a self-supporting school and lifestyle center in Seale, Alabama, founded in 1970 by Drs. Calvin and Agatha Thrash (formerly professors of Loma Linda University). Since completing his studies, Ron has been working as a Lifestyle Counselor at the Uchee Pines Lifestyle Center, as well as traveling to various locations in America and abroad to share God's message of health and healing. He is also trained as a Wilderness Emergency Medical Technician. 


Yolanda Innocent-Palmer

Yolanda Innocent-Palmer, renowned recording artist, songwriter and Christian television show host, is a graduate of the Lifestyle Educator Training Program at Uchee Pines Institute. Along with her husband, H. Schubert Palmer MD, Yolanda is co-founder of Heart & Soul International (HSI Ministries). She also co-hosted their radio health series, “Is There A Doctor In The House?” Under the Holy Spirit’s guidance, she and her husband put together a health evangelism series with the same title, incorporating the ministries of medical missionaries, a registered dietitian, and Preventive Medicine doctor. 

Join Us For A Concert!

This conference will also feature Yolanda in a free Saturday evening concert (begins at 6pm) at the Rotary Performing Arts Pavilion on the shores of beautiful Lake Cadillac. Bring a lawn chair and join us! In case of rain, the concert will be held at the Cadillac Seventh-day Adventist Church located at 801 E. Division in Cadillac.
